Which style is right for me? You need to learn a little bit about the main styles that have emerged throughout the ages. Start with Rococo and Empire style and more onto later classics such as Queen Anne and Colonial. Consider more exotic options such as Coastal, Asian and Moroccan.
Choose wallpapers with smaller patterns if your house is small, so that it won't appear smaller than it really is. Opt for wood flooring and cover with luxurious carpet. For the curtains, use materials such as velvet or brocade for that Victorian look. And to decorate, you can put antique figurines, candles, flowers, or oriental dolls in a display cupboard or on a table.
On the other hand, if the space outside is not that big, you can have small, trimmed flower bushes surrounding your house. There is only one rule for designing a landscape: you should design it to match the theme of your interior design. If you have a minimalist house, never consider on having a Victorian style statue in your front lawn.
Before you invest in a ceiling fan or settle on a particular design, be sure to take accurate measurements of the room. These measurements will be your guide to choosing a ceiling fan that fits well in the space. For example, for large rooms of up to 18 ft x 20 ft, a 52” fan will fit comfortably and cool the room efficiently. However, for rooms 8 ft x 10 ft, opt for a 30” fan. Additionally, remember height. Rooms with lower ceilings may need hugger mounts for their fans while rooms with higher ceilings will need extended down rods.
